My Top 10 Locations {Part 2}

Welcome to Part 2 of my round up of Farnham family photo shoot locations!

We are fortunate to have an abundance of acceptionally beautiful and vaste outdoor spaces here in Farnham.

Many of these locations are ideal for family photo shoots and this Top 10 {Part 2} are the most popular, as chosen by my family clients who live in the area and are very familiar with the Farnham area.

However, I do pride myself in knowing a few hidden gems too!

It’s always a pleasure to take a well-versed Farnham family to a new spot which they haven’t yet discovered.

I have my husband and his parents to thank for this local knowledge as they have lived in the area for over 40 years! Whilst I am writing this article, celebrating my 6th year of living in Farnham and my 11th year in business as a family photographer.

So, if you are visiting this page, and you are local to Farnham or its surrounding villages and towns, I am sure many of these locations will be familiar and much-loved spots to you too!

6. Bourne Woods

It’s rolling hills and tall pine trees make for a dramatic setting, for family photoshoots and movies alike!

There has been a woodland on the site of Bourne Woods since at least 1086, when it was recorded in the Doomsday Book.

It’s also where the chase scene in the Deathly Hallows Part 1 was shot, along with numerous other famous movie scenes.

7. Alice Holt Forest

Alice Holt is a firm favourite with families across Farnham.

It’s size means, no matter how busy the car park gets, there is always a quiete path to enjoy.

And, there are a number of ‘ways in’ to Alice Holt, so we don’t have to rely on the main entrance and pathways for your family photoshoot. Although, this side of Alice Holt has the added advantage of being near toilets and a comfortable cafe, as well as a play area for little ones.

The Gruffallo Trail adds a bit of fun for the little ones too.

I especially like that the main paths are all gravelled and well drained, so even after a rain shower, there isn’t a lot of mud to worry about.

I recommend early evening shoots at Alice Holt as the light is just right at this time.

8. Tilford Bluebell Walk

I know of a pretty little spot in Tilford, along the River Wey and up into the hillside behind the parish church yard. It’s a real little adventure in the spring time when the Bluebells come out.

After your family photo shoot at this pretty Farnham location I recommend heading to Squires Frensham for a coffee or pop into The Barley Mow for a light bite.

9. Churt, The Flashes

Farnham family photo shoot locations don’t get much better than this, all year round!

The Flashes are our favourite family walking spot and probably one of the lesser known of all of the locations I use in the Farnham area for my family shoots.

Every family that’s had their photo shoot here with me, can tell you that this place gets deep into your heart.

It has a magical essence about it!

Yes really!

It is incredibly peaceful and pretty all year round.

Rhododendrons flower here in the late spring, the Tussock grasses swish around you in the breeze (sometimes golden, other times more white, depending on the light) and the views from the top of the surrounding hills are epic.

After your family photoshoot I recommend steak and chips at Bel and The Dragon pub or check out their pizza’s in the garden, in the summer time. Then you can hop accross the road to The Sculpture Park, to continue your family’s adventure. ; )

10. Ludshott Common

The perfect Autumn location! Ludshot Common and Waggoners Wells, are full Beech Tree’s which put on a spectacular show of colour in the Autumn.

It’s also a wonderful spot for children to explore. From the Common area to the interconnecting ponds of Waggoners Wells and all the little interconnecting bridges; there’s always something new to see as we explore, during a family photo shoot.
