Bluebell photoshoot Farnham

Bluebell photoshoot Farnham Surrey Family Photographer

I am currently taking bookings for family Bluebell photoshoot in Farnham, Surrey.

…… and I know of a magical little place that is carpeted with these pretty blue flowers from the end of April through to the middle of May.

Farnham is not particularly well known for carpeted forest floors of Bluebells as many of our forests have a sandy soil which isn’t ideal for our native Bluebell. However you will find fairly large swathes of them above Tilford Meadows and along it’s river bank as well as behind the perfectly named ‘The Bluebell’ pub in Dockenfield.

However there is a hidden Bluebell forest in Farnham which I’m incredibly fortunate to have access to. It’s an incredibly beautiful and very magical place and I look forward to hopefully inviting you there for your own mini adventure through the Bluebells with your family this Spring. : )

I have already shared a few of these images over on my Mini Session info page for a Bluebell photoshoot in Farnham, but as these portraits were taken in this very special spot here in Farnham I thought I ought to feature them in their own blog.

If you are reading this blog and you don’t live near to Farnham, Surrey GU9 you might be interested to know I also run mini Bluebell sessions in Chorleywood which is on the outskirts of North West London, in Hertfordshire. You can see my latest session dates for all of my Bluebell mini sessions here.

If you would like to have a Bluebell session this spring get in touch with me to book. You can use my contacts page here or you can phone me: 07903772960

Commonly asked Questions:

1. What time of year are the bluebells in flower, in Farnham?

It can vary slightly year on year depending on what type of weather we are having over the Winter and early spring. Late spring hard frosts will delay them. But usually we can expect to see them between late April and mid-May.

2. When should we book our Bluebell photoshoot?

I begin to take bookings for Bluebell sessions from March onwards and due to popularity they do book up quickly, so I recomend getting intouch with me now to be added to my newsletter where I first announce available dates.

3. What colours should we wear for a Bluebell photoshoot?

The dominant forest colours for a Bluebell photoshoot are blues and acidic greens so I recommend aiming for contrasting colours that stand out against these colours. Whites, neutrals, dusky pinks or a buttercup yellow all work well. Denims, navy’s and other shades of blue also work to complement the surroundings, whilst I often encourage families to avoid black as this colour tends to absorb too much of the surrounding light and can appear flat and lifeless in this seting.

4. How long is a Bluebell photoshoot?

My bluebell shoots are booked as mini sesions, which are half an hour long. This is a good amount of time to achieve a range of family portraits plus, we usually have a bit of time at the end to capture some playful moments as well.

5. Where do your Bluebell photoshoots take place?

I have access to a private Bluebell woods in Frensham, Farnham, Surrey. Because it’s a privately owned forest I give the address to families once they are booked in and a few days prior to the session taking place.

I also run Bluebell shoots in the Chorleywood area, on the Herts/Bucks boarder. This is only a half hour drive away from Harrow.

5. Do we have to walk very far to reach the Bluebells?

No. The Bluebell spots that I use are all within a very short distance from parking. Although I do recommend you bring a second pair of shoes as sometimes the entrances, where there is lots of foot-fall, can get a bit muddy.

6. How do we book a Bluebell shoot for our family?

You will need to be added to my email newsletter list as this is where I announce my new dates for all of my mini sessions, including the Bluebell shoots. If you are not on my mailing list please head to my contact page here and ask to be added to newsletter list.
