Farnham family and business photographer, my year in review.

What’s been the best thing about my 2024 year as your leading Farnham family & business photographer; here in our beautiful craft town on the Surrey and Hampshire border?

The families and business owners I have photographed and connected with, both new and returning, of course!

Many of these families and business owners are photographed within Farnham and further afield across the Surrey Hampshire border.

Meaning I get to support a range of businesses and families across Surrey and Hampshire.

This blog rounding up the year is simply a snippet of the kinds of things I get up to as a local family and business photographer in Farnham, and I hope to follow up with more detailed stories about these sessions and many more as we move through this year.

This year I’ve enjoyed some very exciting business shoots, for some wonderfully talented creative makers and I hope you’ll see more of these shoots from me in 2025.

There have also been lots of gorgeous family doggies!

I’ve found big family gatherings particularly rewarding! I really enjoy seeing families come together like this and helping them to record their time together a relaxed and ‘effortlessly’ put together way.

These are just snippets from the year and It’s been a really lovely heartwarming time made extra special by everyone that I’ve worked with!

What else marks this year?

2024 felt like a year of letting go, for lots of reasons. This has meant everything from: Reviewing my business systems and re-evaluating my ‘Why’, to physically tossing out old product samples, outdated business cards and my old Mac computer finally took to its death this Christmas! (RIP old Mac!).

But, most important of all, I’ve come to a renewed realisation that this is my business (now in its 14^th year of operation!) and I can reshape its direction to work around the changing needs of my family and that makes me one very lucky working Mum; knowing I have the power and flexibility to do this!

I’ve also come to accept that I am my photography business (an obvious realisation I know!) and properly owning this thought leads me to wanting to show my face here more often (which is tricky when you’re a natural introvert like me); but it’s a worthwhile challenge I hold myself to as we enter 2025!

Having turned 50 in 2024 and reaching my 14th year in business as a family photographer I’m due a bigger reset, but I’m not sure what that’s going to look like yet!

……perhaps that will become clearer toward the end of 2025! Watch this space in the meantime!

So for now it’s out with: Complicated to do lists; Worrying about being seen; Working late in to the night; and: Mum guilt!

And in with:

Remembering my ‘Why’
More thoroughly delighted clients
More smiles and connection
More adorable doggies
Some new & refined services (watch this space!).
And, increasing my presence on social media, and in person as the face of my business!

What’s staying constant this year

It’s also worth stating what’s constant this year.

Outdoor sessions that feel like a little adventure.

I am not really into new year’s resolutions as such, but instead, I wrote these thoughts back in September which is a natural break in my family photoshoot calendar, before the busy Autumn season takes hold! Perhaps it’s also the ex-teacher and the southern hemisphere girl in me that see’s September and the end of summer as a fresh new year!

I’ve got some big ambitions!

I’m ready to meet some wonderful new clients AND I’m taking on some exciting new challenges this year.

As a family and brand photographer, based on the Surrey / Hampshire border, we are fortunate to be surrounded by beautiful country side; with families and businesses who are as inspired by it as I am!

Hi there! If we haven’t met before….

I’s Sarah Angel, your professional family, doggy and business brand photographer based in Farnham on the border of Surreyand Hampshire.

I’m a UK Kiwi mum, Fine Art trained and I hold a 1st class honours award in Photography.

Prior to establishing my family photography business, I worked in education as a secondary School Art and Photography teacher, for 20 years. I still enjoy teaching, running photography workshops for adult beginners, in the Farnham area.
