Family photo shoot in Frensham, Surrey { 12 Images of Christmas – Day 11 }

What do you do on Christmas day? A family photo shoot in Frensham, Surrey of course!  Well I guess this wouldn’t be at the top of every ones list of priorities on Christmas Day or even Boxing day for that matter! It wasn’t our strict intention either. But, when 3 out of the 7 family members together at Christmas time are photographers, it can often end up this way.

 

Our genuine intention is that we always head out for a walk at Christmas time and Frensham is one of our favourite places to explore.  Going to Frensham at Christmas time has ended up being a bit of a family ritual of sorts.

I don’t always take my camera out with me for family walks. When I do I am careful not to ask my children too many times to sit and pose for me as I never want them to dislike photography and being photographed.

You can see anther one of our walks on holiday here and both of my boys enjoyed being photographed whilst they climbed into big old trees and sat on old logs in the New Forrest.

Photography in our family usually works on our childrens terms. So you can imagine my delight when Bailey decided he wanted to have this portrait taken of him last Christmas. Many of our personal family pictures are often snapshots like the ones you see below here.

So our family photo shoot in Frensham surrey was more about the kids at Christmas time rather than achieving a full sessions worth of Family portraits. What is most important for all of us is simply getting out in the fresh air at Christmas time and stretching our legs between eating lots Christmas calories and lazing about on the living room floor with the kids.
