What are mini family photoshoots?
been wishing for a little family adventure for some time Now?
Who are they for?
My mini shoots are ideal for families who are:
- after just a few images to display in frames at home & send to the grandparents;
- trying an outdoor session for the first time;
- wanting more regular professional photos;
- wanting to fit a photoshoot into full & active weekends.
How do they work?
Mini sessions are a special package offer which happen on just one or two days in each of the less chilly seasons in the year: Spring, Summer & Autumn.

They are a fun 30 minute photoshoot, designed to capture a selection of portraits and candid moments of your family.
They are suitable for up to 5 family members (& doggies are very welcome too).

After your shoot you'll receive a private online gallery where you can browse & select digitals, fine art prints, frames & more.
WhAT'S INCLUDED?
Mini sessions include: 30 minute photoshoot; 5 digital images of your choice; Private online gallery displaying a minimum of 25 images from your shoot; Pre-session what to wear guide & family questionnaire.

Where do they take place?
Most of my mini photoshoots take place on the border of Surrey and Hampshire within a 20 minute drive of Farnham GU9.

Locations are carefully chosen for good light, seasonal scenery and they'll be easy for even the littlest legs to walk to.

Exact location info is given 2-3 days prior to the session as I like to make sure you have the very best spot on the day of your shoot and some of my locations are privately owned.

Enjoy a relaxed photoshoot in one of our most magical and quintessentially British natural phenomena this spring. Bluebell mini's are a 30minute drive into Hampshire, from Farnham GU9.

Summer Mini shoots
Session date: 28th JUNE, 2026
I run my summer mini sessions from early morning until dusk, to make the most of the beautiful long summer days (&avoiding the harsh midday sun). Our location is likely to be in the Frensham, Bordon or Thursley area. All within a short drive of Farnham, Surrey and confirmed a few days prior to your shoot.

Autumn Mini shoots

My autumn mini family photoshoots are my most popular mini shoots and for this reason I have two dates & locations available to book. Shoots will take place in Frensham, Farnham, Surrey & in North London (on the boarder of Hillingdon & Buckinghamshire).

Early Spring Mini shoots

My early spring mini family photoshoots take place at a pretty heathland location within the Farnham, Surrey area. At this time of year you can expect to enjoy sandy pathways flanked with pretty yellow gorse flowers, tussock grasses and forest canopy.

Hello & Kia ora, I'm Sarah Angel, Kiwi mum of boys and a 1st class honors awarded photographer with 14 years experience photographing newborn babies, families, businesses (and doggies!), across Surrey, Hampshire & London.

As a photographer my hearts adventure is working intently with families & businesses, to create beautiful and down to earth photographs full of family connection and fun. Because we all need more of this stuff in our lives right now don't we!

Achieving beautiful photography is never a rushed experience & our time together will always be genuine. I'm a Kiwi after all so I really wouldn’t have it any other way!

FAQs
Will The session feel rushed?
No, not at all! I have been running mini sessions for over 10 years now and I have a gentle routine that is streamlined without feeling like you are on a conveyor belt with other families. I also leave some wiggle room between sessions incase anyone needs an emergency nappy change or snack break during the session.
What if it rains on the day of our shoot?
I ask families to try and be available for a back up date which I tell you about at the time of booking. The day before out shoot I will contact you if the weather looks too unpleasant for our photoshoot. We'll reschedule in the event of bad rain (and extreme heatwaves too). If it's just light drizzle the session can go ahead. If you can't make the rescheduled date you can choose from another mini session date within a 12 month period.
WHAT if my toddler runs away & doesn't want to be photographed.
I have two children myself and I have photographed hundreds of toddlers over the years. I aim to keep my sessions light-hearted and playful, with a few tricks up my sleeve which can have your toddler enjoying their session as part of the family, no problem at all.
THIS IS OUR FIRST FAMILY SESSION. How can I curb my own anxiety about being photographed?
My mini sessions are very popular with families who are trying an outdoor photoshoot for the first time. Often, for mums, it will be your first time in front of the camera since having children. I am experienced at helping to guide you to your best and most comfortable angles so you can look and feel great at your session. If you have any particular worries then please do let me know. I can adapt your session to ensure you feel comfortable on the day and really happy with the finished results!
WhaT sould we wear for our session?
Once you are booked in I send out a welcome email that includes a document full of advice on what to wear and how to organise the whole family ready for your photoshoot. You are also invited to send me a few snaps in a whats app message, of wardrobe options if you're really unsure. I am always on hand to help and support with advice.
Can our doggie join in too?
Well trained doggies are welcome to attend mini sessions. They're a part of your family, after all! Please bring snacks and a doggy lead. For Bluebell shoots your Doggie will need to be on a lead for the whole session as Bluebells are a protected British plant species and we aim to stick to the pathways.
If you're Doggy is still learning to follow basic commands or get's a bit over excited I would recommend you book in for a full family session instead, giving us a little more time to get the desired shots at your session. This advice also applies if you have more than one child of preschool age and under, as well as a doggy to manage.
