I had the pleasure of meeting Baby Finn and his parents earlier in the year.  Finn was an absolute star and had lots of those lovely newborn smiles for us.  It was such a treat to photograph him.

For this session, the beautiful crochet rug and chenille blanket were all provided by Mum, which adds such a beautiful and personal touch to these images.  It’s always extra special when the props used in a session belong to the family.

This is also one of the reasons why I enjoy offering my newborn clients an in home service.  I get to incorporate elements of the families home and personal possessions into their newborn session.  Often I will turn up at someones home and spot the potential for using an heirloom wooden chest or a cosy chair as the perfect prop for a very personal and memorable newborn portrait.

Over the last few years in business, I have had such a great time visiting people in their homes across different parts of London and now in farnham, Surrey as well.  I have even made it down to Croydon twice in the last 5 months!

There are pro’s and con’s either way to offering a travel-to-you versus studio photography service.  I thoroughly enjoy being able to offer such a personal service to my clients, especially in those very early days of parenthood.  It can make such a difference to your new family, to be the kind of photographer who will travel to you as apposed to you having to travel out to a studio. (Especially if you have had a C-section or any other type of postnatal complication).

But for the time being I have decided to keep my travel to newborn sessions within a smaller more local radius and by local I mean any address within approximately a 30 minute drive from Farnham GU9.  I spend a lot of time with a newborn on the day of their session (often up to 6 hours) so a long travel time as well makes for a very long day.  Secondly, my children are coming up to school age now (yes it has come around so quickly!) and I really want to be around for them before and after school.  If you are reading this and you want to book but you are not sure if you are within my ‘local range’ then please get in touch using my contacts page or call me on 07903772960.
