Newborn photo shoot Farnham, Surrey  { 12 Images of Christmas Day Three }

You might recognise this little lady as this image has been on my revolving slideshow, for a newborn photo shoot Farnham, Surrey, on the front of my website here for some weeks now.  I met Mia and her parents earlier this year prior to our move.  I now offer a newborn photo shoot service at your home, within a 10 mile radius of Farnham, Surrey. 

I chose this image to begin today’s blog post as Aiesha is wearing my favourite and most pretty Christmas headband. I love the warm glow of her posed newborn portraits set in contrast to the cooler coloured family portraits.

Christmas newborn sessions have such a special glow about them. As a natural light photographer I am constantly observing the changing light throughout different times of the day and year. The light outside is so low in the sky at Christmas time resulting in newborn sessions with softer edges, rich shadows and deeper looking hues.

She wasn’t the last newborn I photographed in London prior to our move but she was the last newborn photo shoot prior to the Summer before we started packing up our home and studio office.

Mia was 10 days old on the day of her Newborn photo shoot, which is my favourite age for newborn photography. Occasionally I have photographed slightly older babies but they do start to lengthen out and lose that curled up newborn look. They also become more aware of their surroundings, sleep a little less and therefor they can take longer to pose.

Newborn photo shoot in your home

It is so nice to photograph families in their home. It makes for a more relaxed session for the parents.  They can choose to be very involved in the session or they can potter around the house in their slippers.  The choice is theirs. Mia’s Mum and Dad were close to hand for the whole session and they couldn’t take their eyes of her!  I don’t blame them either. I am the same when I am in the room with a newborn baby.  I think they have that power to mesmerise all of us!
