{The Angel Family Advent Book Calendar}
I don’t know about you, but I have had one two many Christmas pies this holiday and tonight I am putting together a pizza and movie supper for everyone here at home ! ‘T’is the season! I am not looking forward to that first evening of yoga next week when I have to remember how to exercise again!
This Christmas I put together an advent book calendar for my boys. One book per day to unwrap from the 1st until the 24th of December. Most of them were Christmas books, with the odd other favourite title thrown in and a couple of sneaky christmas DVD’s for the last two weekends leading up to the big day. It didn’t cost a lot of money to put together. I found books in charity shops and wrapped up books we had in the house already. I found the two DVD’s on special at our local supermarket and I topped up our book collection with a trip to the library.
It’s been a worthwhile and enjoyable challenge for me to organise this for the boys as they have thoroughly enjoyed it. The boys loved searching for the correct numbered parcel each night and unwrapping a book at bed time made story time, during December, all the more special.
