{Donata’s Face Painting ….. in the woodland of make believe}

Meet Donata hall.  She is an extremely talented face painter who is currently leading in her field and offers her expert skills across greater London and beyond.

Most often she is booked up months in advance and most of her business now comes from private recommendations.  She has gotten to know particular families very well as they ask her back year on year for each of their children’s consecutive birthday parties and in some cases their family gatherings too.

A painted face captures the imaginations of both young and old. Yes, adults love face painting too!  As well as painting children’s faces, Donata paints faces at special events such as Hen parties, baby showers and private corporate parties too.

She is highly sort after for her very detailed face painting creations and she has this knack of making every child feel very special and helps them to become one with their chosen character. F ace painting has the ability to turn an otherwise quiet child into their favourite and more brave alter ego. I am sure you have seen this yourself when your own son or daughter has had their face painted. I know I have!

Donata’s business has been established for 7 years now and it emerged very naturally from her love for Art and her love for working with young children.  She trained as an artist whilst at university and she is also a Primary school teacher.  She currently balances her working life between teaching and face painting, which Donata say’s is the perfect combination for her. She as a young son who also loves her face painting and is both her muse and her biggest fan.

Donata came to me with the aim of achieving a set of head shots and promotional images for her business. We decided to aim for a set of images that would suggest a ‘children’s world of face painting’.  We could have simply lined the children up and photographed each face that Donata painted however Donata and I thought it would be much more magical to portray the children in such a way where they could play and explore their face painted character.  Together we were interested in promoting a lifestyle rather than simply recording each documented face. This approach has already opened up a whole new window of creative opportunities for Donata and her business and I am so pleased to have been able to work with her to achieve these images.

Donata will use these images, including the head shots, on her website, promotional printed material, press release and social media.

Our models for the day were all local children and they were all absolute stars.  As you can see, Donata happily captured each and every one of their hearts.  Each child enthusiastically threw themselves into their character as wolf, fox, butterfly and fairy, in the woods at the bottom of a park, on a beautiful Autumnal day.  None of the children captured here have any experience or association with modeling.  They were all just enjoying being children and being lost in a woodland of make believe.
